It’s been a rough couple of months for Disney Plus subscribers. First came news of yet another price hike — which will take effect on October 17th — followed by Disney’s announcement that it will begin charging $6.99 a month to add an “extra member” to an ad-supported plan (so long, password sharing). Fortunately, both new and returning subscribers can lock in three months of Disney’s ad-supported Basic plan for $1.99 a month through the end of today, September 27th.

As is the case with the base tier with most streaming services, Disney Plus Basic doesn’t allow you to download content for offline viewing. It does provide access to the same slate of programming as the more premium tiers, though, which means you can tap into TV shows and…
